STILL YOU. WITH FEWER LINES.
Botox®, Dysport® and Nuceiva™
We offer three different types of botulinum toxins, also known as neuromodulators, anti-wrinkle injections or by their trade-names: Botox Cosmetic®, Dysport® and Nuceiva. They are all the same type of bacteria, Botulinumtoxin Type A but are formulated with different proteins which may effect onset and duration of action, formulation of antibodies and product diffusion. Each has a similar net effect of diminishing lines and wrinkles created by muscle contraction. Most clients can use each product interchangeably without being able to differentiate between them. However, you may already have a preference based on previous response to treatment or in rare cases of antibody development to one product, we can use another brand to achieve your desired results.

What are the benefits of botox injections?
Although BOTOX® was originally created to smooth out fine lines and wrinkles that develop in the facial area due to aging, after ample research doctors have discovered that BOTOX® has a variety of other medical applications and benefits.
1. Reducing and Preventing Facial Wrinkles
To get rid of wrinkles and fine lines, BOTOX® is injected into the muscles that are usually the underlying cause of wrinkles. This allows the muscles to relax around the injection site, making the skin smooth again and reducing the amount of wrinkles.
2. Correcting Eye Conditions
BOTOX® can also be used to correct physical eye problems such as Lazy eyes, strabismus (crossed-eyes), and blepharospasm (rapid eye blinking). The neurotoxin in the BOTOX® serum also stops the effects of eye twitching and squinting that’s oftentimes a symptom of stress and muscle weakness.
3. Stop Excessive Sweating
Excessive sweating, also referred to as hyperhidrosis, doesn’t always stop once you start using antiperspirant. While deodorants are a recommended first line of defense against excessive sweating, if you’re still experiencing issues there is hope!
This treatment not only helps with the effects of hyperhidrosis, but it can also reverse the effects of stress sweat as well. It has a way of blocking acetylcholine, the chemical in the body that activates the sweat glands. It is specifically successful in areas of the body that are more prone to sweating like armpits. For long-term relief, it is advised that patients seek additional injections as needed to maintain the results.
4. Incontinence Treatment
BOTOX® is generally a last resort for overactive bladder treatment. However, if other treatments prove to be ineffective, then your doctor may recommend BOTOX® injections to reduce incontinence due to overactive bladder.
5. Relief for Migraines
BOTOX® Cosmetic has been cleared by the FDA for the treatment of migraines. The neurotoxin used in the BOTOX® serum will start to affect the nerves and prevent both muscle tension responses and pain transmission that comes from headaches.
How Long Does It Take To See Results From Botox Migraine Treatments?
Normally it takes a few treatments for full results to set in. So you might not experience full relief from your migraines until the second or third treatment.
6. Treating Neck Spasms
Another benefit of BOTOX® injections is they can help to reduce the effects of a condition called cervical dystonia. This condition often occurs due to abnormal head positioning and usually leads to severe neck pain. BOTOX® prevents and reduces neck muscle spasms by inhibiting the nerves that cause the muscles to spasm.
7. Removing Visible Signs of Aging
One of the most common and well-recognized of all BOTOX® treatments, this serum has been shown to be effective at reducing the signs of aging, especially for reducing wrinkles. Specifically, BOTOX® injections prevent and reduce dynamic wrinkles by inhibiting the nerve signals that trigger facial expressions.
When you work with a provider to set up an effective BOTOX® treatment plan you can see improvement with several types of facial wrinkles, including:
- Nasolabial folds
- Marionette lines
- Forehead lines
- Fine lines and wrinkles
BOTOX® injections can also be paired with other cosmetic treatments to help rejuvenate your face, without ever having to have surgery. You can also pair your BOTOX® treatments with restorative dermal fillers like Juvederm.
Non-invasive injectables, such as BOTOX®, have truly become one of the best ways to gain the look of youthfulness and revitalization in a fast, effective, and affordable manner.
8. Treating TMJ
BOTOX® has been approved for the treatment of TMJ since 2002. It’s been recognized as both safe and effective. The nerve-inhibiting properties of BOTOX® help people who suffer from TMJ to reduce and alleviate symptoms.
9. Reducing Joint Pain
If you’re experiencing undue amounts of joint pain, arthritis, or overuse pain, BOTOX® injections can help reduce the pain you’re experiencing.
10. Reducing the Appearance of Crow’s Feet
Finally, just like how BOTOX® injections can help reduce the signs of large dynamic wrinkles on your face, injectable treatments will help reduce the signs of crow’s feet appearing around your eyes.
Other medical uses for botox injections
If you suffer from chronically cold hands, BOTOX® injections might be able to help. The injections will help the muscles in your hands relax so your blood vessels can dilate, and thus improve your circulation.
Additionally, BOTOX® can help treat the effects of Bell’s palsy, which is a condition that paralyzes the muscles in one side of your face.
These uses may not necessarily be addressed at a cosmetic clinic, but your doctor may refer you to a plastic surgery clinic or a clinic that specializes in these procedures if they determine BOTOX® is the right treatment for your condition.
Before and After
Frequently Asked Questions
A combination of factors can cause facial lines. It’s not just about the cellular changes that may occur, or reduction of collagen, or damage caused by free radicals from the sun and the environment.
Repeated muscle contractions from frowning, squinting, or raising eyebrows cause skin to furrow and fold, gradually resulting in the formation of facial lines. BOTOX® Cosmetic works beneath the surface and temporarily reduces the underlying muscle activity that causes moderate to severe frown lines, crow’s feet and forehead lines in adults – to help them look visibly smoother.
Treatment areas where BOTOX COSMETIC® injections can be used include frown lines between eyebrows, horizontal lines that run across the forehead and crow’s feet around outer eyes.
Some patients receiving BOTOX® Cosmetic report the injections feel like a pinch. You may begin to notice a visible smoothing of frown lines, crow’s feet and forehead lines within 24 to 48 hours, with full results in 30 days lasting up to 4 months for moderate to severe frown lines.
BOTOX® Cosmetic is not a permanent treatment. If you discontinue treatment the moderate to severe frown lines, crow’s feet and forehead lines will gradually return.
Only BOTOX® Cosmetic is backed by more than 16 years of published studies. It uses a unique manufacturing process, and its potency is measured in units that cannot be compared to any other product. This is why there is no such thing as “generic” BOTOX® Cosmetic.
Did you know the FDA has stated that BOTOX® Cosmetic is “non-interchangeable”? That means its safety and effectiveness cannot be claimed by another product. The potency – or strength – of BOTOX®Cosmetic is measured in scientifically defined units that cannot be compared to any other product, due to its unique manufacturing process. There are no substitutes for our product. People who are prescribed a biologic product have a right to know exactly what they are receiving; be sure to ask for BOTOX®Cosmetic by name.
Only BOTOX® Cosmetic has been evaluated and approved by the FDA to help make moderate to severe frown lines, crow’s feet, and forehead lines look better in adults. Make sure you receive authentic BOTOX® Cosmetic—by taking a few simple steps.
- Ask to see the vial of BOTOX® Cosmetic that the specialist will use during your treatment. The vial will have the BOTOX® Cosmetic logo and also have a holographic image that says Allergan. If the vial has another logo or marking, then it is not BOTOX® Cosmetic.
- See a reputable medical provider who purchases BOTOX® Cosmetic directly from Allergan such as LSG or a distributor authorized by Allergan.
BOTOX® Cosmetic is manufactured by Allergan in a state-of-the-art facility under the strictest quality and safety standards. Every vial is filled and sealed in a completely sterile environment where the air is filtered and refreshed in excess of 200 times an hour.
Dermal fillers add volume in order to correct hollowness, volume loss, wrinkles and folds. Common treatment areas are lips, cheeks, chin and jawline. Botulinum toxins act on the muscle by temporarily inhibiting their connection to the brain. Common treatment areas are frown lines (11’s, glabella), forehead lines and crow’s feet (around the eyes).
Unfortunately, we encounter a lot of clients who have had a bad experience with injectables and require corrections. Botulinum Toxins do not have an antidote or reversing agent, so undesired effects such as drooping brow, lid ptosis, asymmetrical smile, etc. are typically something you just have to wait out. We always encourage you to return to the injector who treated you so that the issue can be assessed and promote learning between you and the injector.
In the case of hyaluronic acid based dermal fillers, we have options. Perhaps you have lumps, asymmetry, migrated filler, filler “moustache” or “ridge” above the lip or a Tyndall effect (blueish appearance of filler too close to the surface of the skin). In these cases, we can remove the filler with an enzyme called hyaluronidase which breaks down filler quickly and effectively and eliminates it through your lymphatic system. Dissolving results are typically noticed within the first 24-48 hours. Repeat treatments spaced minimum of 2-3 weeks apart may be required, as the effects are less predictable than with other injectables. Hyaluronidase is not specific to filler, so it may also break down your own natural hyaluronic acid within your skin. Luckily for us, our bodies are exceptional healers and hyaluronic acid levels can easily be replenished within about a month after breakdown in a healthy individual. Drinking plenty of water, light activity and massaging the area encourages lymphatic drainage and supports optimal results and healing. Sometimes PRP (platelet rich plasma) treatments are recommended to help restore the health of the tissues. If you wish to refill the area, we recommend waiting at least 4 weeks after your last dissolving session for best results.
The overall results of BOTOX® injections will differ depending on the patient. But, in general, the effects of BOTOX® can last anywhere from 3 to 5 months. First-time patients may see their results last as long as 6 months, while other patients may only notice results for as short as 2 months.
Keep in mind that BOTOX® treatments are part of an overall treatment plan, and not a one-and-done solution for fighting wrinkles. After your first treatment, you will need to set up regular follow-up appointments to maintain your results.
Are you wondering “at what age should I get Botox?” If you’ve started to notice wrinkles or have become interested in preventing them, it may be time to start considering botox.
All FDA approved uses for BOTOX® are for adults age 18 and up. For cosmetic BOTOX® treatments, we see adults of all ages. Younger patients generally skew towards their mid-20s or early 30s to aid in helping reduce the signs of aging before they start. However, it’s almost never too late to start getting botox.
Absolutely – and it’s not just about the amount of botox used. The best way to ensure a natural looking result is to trust your provider for how they inject botox. Finding a botox expert who is skilled in treating common skin issues, like signs of aging, can significantly change the results you can expect.
Our Advanced Nurse Practitioners have been injecting Botox for years and are kept up to date with the latest seminars, training and techniques.
Botox microdosing
MicroBotox
Microtoxin
The main difference between regular botox and botox microdosing is the depth and amount of botox injected. Botox microdosing is a diluted version of the typical botox that is used in the face. Botox is typically injected into the muscle layer of the face to help “freeze” the area to reduce and prevent wrinkles. Whereas botox microdosing injections are more superficial and spread out to treat a larger area for issues like skin crepiness.
The most common area for botox microdosing in our clinic has been with patients looking to reduce redness and wrinkles in the neck area. Our MicroBotox treatments have become a poplar add-on to many different aesthetic procedures
Baby Botox, also called micro-Botox, is a trending version of traditional Botox treatments. While Botox treats other conditions on the face, baby Botox is specific to the facial areas. It works similar to Botox in that it is small doses of the toxin injected in the facial muscles alone. The face looks younger and smoother, without the plastic or frozen expression often associated when too much Botox has been injected into the skin at one time. For example, instead of using 35 units, you can receive 10 units in targeted micro-injections.
A good candidate for baby Botox is someone who may not have had Botox before and wants to experiment with the results. Another reasons someone might choose Baby Botox is if they are in their twenties and want to prevent fine lines before they start to appear.
HOW DOES BABY BOTOX WORK?
Baby Botox works in much the same way as traditional Botox, just with smaller doses of the toxin. There are limited effects of what it can do for your face, with less dramatic results. The face looks more natural when compared to traditional Botox treatments. That means there’s less chance of noticing any signs of cosmetic procedures, until with tradition Botox treatments.
Baby Botox is used on facial areas that are prone to facial wrinkles or fine lines. These targeted areas include the wrinkling of the forehead, crow’s feet, brow furrows, jawbone, lips, frown lines, and neck.
