PLATELET RICH PLASMA (PRP) FACIAL

PRP Facial is different from Vampire Facial or Vampire Facelift, though growth factors are important and utilized in both procedures.

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) for Facial applications is obtained by using a centrifuge to separate plasma that is rich in growth factors from patients’ own whole blood. After drawing your blood, (less than that normally taken for routine blood tests), the blood is placed in a vile and spun in a high speed centrifuge to separate the plasma from the red blood cells. The process concentrates the platelet-rich plasma – often called ‘liquid gold’. The PRP is then applied to your skin with micro-needling process to stimulate the creation of new skin cells and regeneration of damaged cells. It also be injected into the skin. (Please view our 4 options of PRP at the end of the page.)

Platelets contain substances called growth factors that activate and rejuvenate cells in the body. The concentrated platelets in PRP contain tremendous amounts of bioactive proteins, which include the growth factors PDGF and VEGF. These growth factors initiate accelerated tissue repair, and have positive effects on skin rejuvenation. The growth factors, when released, promote tissue repair, angiogenesis (capillary formation), and collagen production. The goal is to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, and the creation of new skin cells. Your skin will glow and immediately feel smoother and softer, with progressive improvements continuing for several months.

This treatment is associated with no risk of allergy or infections as we are essentially using your own byproduct PRP regenerates damaged tissues stronger and faster than most traditional treatments. Our patients are ready to return to work the following day.

PRP Rejuvenation / PRP Facial Options

Option 1: PRP with Fillers = most significant improvement (Vampire Facial)

The true “lift” effect is achievable with a combination of fillers, layered with the PRP serum. The fillers provide an instant fill or volume correction and the PRP – injected above the filler – immediately kick-starts a skin regeneration process. Patients can see and feel the effects within minutes as their skin becomes tauter and smoother.

Filler products that are used in conjunction with the PRP serum are Radiesse, Perlane or Restylane or Juvederm Ultra Plus. The use of PRP with fillers not only enhances the skin tone and texture, but prolongs the effective filler correction for 3 to 6 months longer than when fillers are used alone.

Option 2: PRP Injection Therapy = 2nd most significant improvement

Patients who don’t want or need fillers can benefit from PRP  The activated PRP serum can be injected just under the skin surface to stimulate the body to make a small amount of its own ‘filler’. Although this will not approximate the same results as you would get from a gel filler such as Restylane or Juvederm, you will still see some improved textural changes.

Option 3: PRP Therapy Used as Laser Resurfacing Enhancement

Fractional laser treatments are known for their ability to retexture skin. Adding PRP takes laser resurfacing to a new level by accelerating healing and increasing desired new collagen formation. Following your Fraxel Restore treatment, activated PRP serum is applied to skin that is ideally suited to accept the wound-healing platelet serum.

Option 4: PRP Microneedling Facial

The PRP Facial consists of PRP applied to skin that has been prepared by our eDermaspamp microneedle via ‘collagen induction therapy’. Microneedling makes tiny “wounds” in the skin which accept the PRP serum and begins the process of collagen creation along with the tissue enhancement from growth factors found in the plasma serum.

When you cut yourself, your platelets are the component of your blood that are responsible for repairing the injury. They do so by starting a cascade which involves releasing multiple growth factors and activating multi-potent stem cells to regenerate new skin tissue. The platelet rich plasma from your own blood, when applied to your skin while inducing micro-injuries from the microneedling, start the same cascade; the result is an enhancement in the new collagen and tissue regeneration leading to a firmer, smoother and more youthful face.

The microneedling treatment has been around for a few years and has been shown to improve the appearance of skin through a process called Collagen Induction Therapy-CIT. For improvement of skin texture, wrinkles, elasticity, deep pigmentation such as melasma we recommend starting with three PRP facial treatments, 6-8 weeks apart to achieve desired results.

Option 5: PRP Facial with U225 Mesotherapy Gun

Laser Spa Group uses a precise method for these injections with the use of the U225 Mesogun. The pneumatic power of the Mesogun separates this device from all others in the field. The added power allows faster injection as well as a faster needle movement. The Mesogun also has an innovative feature called needle syringe separation which is a process where only the needle and syringe move as one unit. This provides added stability and less vibration while injecting. There is also no dripping or waste of product therefore you’re getting the full use of the product. There is no pain and no numbing required with the Mesogun not like other systems.

An additional benefit is that the mesogun can reduce any normal defensive response your body may show when it is injected. When delivering a treatment by manual needle, the pain and bruising that can occur at the site is connected to how long the needle is inserted. The U225 mesogun can make its injection with rapid speed, allowing it to perform a quick in-and-out before your body realizes what has happened. The highly concentrated platelet rich plasma (PRP) is injected into the face, neck around the eyes, lips and topically. We use the U225 Mesotherapy Gun for PRP for both Facial Rejuvenation and Hair Restoration at the clinic. A very painless procedure for scalp and hair restoration.
