Sculptra
As a truly non-surgical procedure, the Sculptra Butt Lift has revolutionized the way butt lift procedures are performed. Sculptra is a great option for those who desire a fuller and shapelier buttocks but have been unable to achieve it naturally, and do not wish to proceed with surgery.
This popular, non-surgical butt lift procedure is ideal for those seeking a more rounded look to the buttocks, with flexible shaping options. It can also correct a ‘hip dip.’ Sculptra® Aesthetic is made of injectable poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA). PLLA is a biocompatible material, which the body absorbs over time. As an injectable, the branded form of PLLA (i.e. Sculptra®), was FDA approved in 2013 for cosmetic use in the face. The generic substance was approved by Health Canada for cosmetic use in 2006.
Sculptra® butt lifts can last for 18 – 24 months.
To find out if a Sculptra® hip or butt injection is right for you, we encourage you to book a consultation at our clinic. We’ll be able to learn more about your case, and can give you an estimated price based on what you’re looking to achieve.
Before and After
Frequently Asked Questions
Sculptra, or poly-l-lactic acid (PLLA), is a volume-enhancing injectable used for skin and soft tissue augmentation. PLLA stimulates the body’s own collagen production and can be used for volume restoration and skin rejuvenation. Most studies thus far have focused on its use for fat loss in the face (currently the only FDA-approved indication for Sculptra Aesthetic is in the face). In recent years, an off-label application for use in the buttocks has been explored with good results.
The Sculptra Butt Lift is a unique utilization of Sculptra that is used to stimulate collagen-growth and thicken the skin using micro-invasive injections just below the skin. For our patients with little fat, the Sculptra Butt Lift procedure is a welcome, convenient, and effective option for enhancing the shape of the buttocks.
It can be difficult to manipulate the size and shape of your buttocks using only diet or exercise, you are limited by genetics with the results you’ll be able to achieve. In addition, dieting cannot “target” specific areas of the body. Although exercise is wonderful for maintaining health, increasing the muscle mass of the rear-end with squats or lunges can be time consuming and frustrating. This is why so many people choose to bring proportion, shape, and enhancement to their body through the use of butt lift procedures. A butt lift can make your buttocks fuller and rounder, helping you feel more confident and sexy.
- No anesthetic injections are necessary
- Wonderful for lean patients desiring a fuller, shapelier behind
- Short recovery time
- Subtle, natural looking results
- Limited interruption to your daily life
- Procedure can be accomplished in as little as 60-minutes
- Provides lift and volume to the buttocks area
If you desire a larger rear-end but you don’t have enough fat (or do not want to undergo a surgical procedure), then you are likely a good candidate for a Sculptra Butt Lift. In general, candidates that will benefit from the procedure are not predisposed to any adverse complications. Because Sculptra is a widely used dermal collagen stimulator, many candidates will be a good fit for the Sculptra Butt Lift. In general, the following qualities make the best Sculptra Butt Lift candidates:
- A desire to increase the volume, size or roundness of the buttocks without undergoing surgery
- A desire to increase the volume, size and shape of the buttocks, but do not have enough fat to undergo a surgical Fat Transfer (standard Brazilian Butt lift)
- A desire for long term but not permanent results (the results will last up to two years)
- A desire to bring proportion and contouring to the buttocks area
- A desire to bring a subtle lift to the buttocks area
- A desire to improve the texture of the buttocks (A Sculptra Butt Lift can help reduce the appearance of stretch-marks and cellulite.)
- Realistic expectations about what this procedure can accomplish
- Near your ideal body weight
- Between the ages of 25-45 years of age
- Patience! Sculptra is progressive and results build / improve over time.
In our experience we have found that doing more product in the beginning (and less treatments) is more satisfactory to patients than doing less product at each session, but ultimately more sessions, which is a slower process to get to the desired outcome. The cost per vial ranges from $499 – $750 per vial depending on how many vials are purchased.
Pricing depends on the amount of vials that are used per treatment. The amount of product needed depends on the patients’ budget, time constraints, expectations and desired result.
The price Sculptra® butt lift can vary depending on:
- The shape of your current buttocks or hip dip
- The shape and volume you’re looking to achieve
- The number of vials it will take to get your desired look
- The amount of time it will take to inject the vials
Ultimately, you will need an in-person consultation to determine a quote for your needs.
However, we can say that, very generally speaking, a 3-treatment non-surgical butt lift can cost between $2700 to $6000 to see satisfactory results.
This cost includes the dermal filler itself, all supplies needed for treatment, as well as nurse expertise and follow-up.
We encourage you to book a consultation today. When we see you in person, we’ll learn more about your goals, and suggest solutions that may work for you. For example, it could be that a slight butt lift with CoolSculpting would be better for your needs. Whatever it is, we’ll give you options!
During your consultation, you will discuss your goals and desired final results, as well as the optimal way to achieve those results. Your treatment provider will examine your body-shape and review your expectations, from there your provider will be able to make her best recommendations for the appropriate amount of Sculptra needed (and the number of treatments) to achieve the best results.
On average a minimum of 2x to 3x sessions is recommended, although it is possible this number may vary. Because of everyone’s unique response to treatment, it is not possible to guarantee the outcome / time it will take to get your desired result.
During your consultation, please be prepared to discuss your medical history, including any medications you are currently taking as well as recent tobacco use. All of our consultations are completely confidential.
During a Sculptra Butt Lift procedure, your provider will mark your body while you’re either standing or lying down. You will then usually lie flat on your stomach and your provider may apply a topical anesthetic or numbing agent to help minimize any discomfort. Once the anesthetic takes effect, your provider will begin using the Sculptra to treat the identified, targeted areas. It takes multiple injections to get the Sculptra stimulator adequately distributed into the buttocks treatment area(s), and your appointment will usually take about 60-minutes.
Your treatments should be spaced about three to twelve weeks apart, depending on your schedule and preferences. Depending on the desired level of augmentation, most patients require about two to three treatments, six weeks apart.
Although results can be noticed as early as six weeks after the treatments, the optimal outcome is not noticed until about six months after the procedure.
Pictures will be taken throughout the process to track and record results. These are for your records only, unless otherwise discussed.
You are welcome to go back to your everyday activities following treatment. Although the treatment area may feel sore and there may be some bruising, there is no “recovery time” needed following the Sculptra Butt Lift procedure. (Any bruising that occurs should dissipate within two to three weeks.)
In order to help insure the best results, you should massage the treatment area for 5x a day, for 5-minutes at a time, for the first 5x days following treatment.
Once the treatment plan is complete, patients are free to enjoy their Sculptra Butt Lift results. Most patients see a subtle but significant lift of the buttocks after their first or second injection session, making the backside appear more youthful, contoured, and proportionate to the rest of the body.
To be clear, Laser Spa Group does NOT offer the surgical option of the Brazilian Butt Lift, the following information is just for your informational / educational benefit.
The most striking difference between the Sculptra Butt Lift and the Brazilian Butt Lift is that Sculptra is a non-surgical procedure and there is no down time involved.
The Sculptra Butt Lift requires only simple and painless injections under the skin during a quick out-patient treatment. It is a great alternative to the Brazilian Butt Lift procedure for leaner patients that don’t have quite enough extra fat to transfer. Sculptra works over time, gradually thickening the skin up to four times, thereby adding a visible volume increasing effect to the buttocks area.
During a Brazilian Butt Lift, the first step is liposuction. Fat is removed from a target area with excess fat. The removed fat is then injected into the buttocks. The results are long lasting and, often, quite bold.
A Sculptra Butt Lift does not require liposuction because the injected material is the dermal collagen stimulator rather than a fat graft. The advantage here is that there is no need for even minimally invasive surgery, and therefore no anesthetic is required. (Patients are sometimes given a topical numbing agent to combat any discomfort.) The results tend to be gradual and subtle, with no recovery needed. Sculptra requires several treatments generally one month apart and results improve over time. The results will generally last two to three years. This makes Sculptra Butt Lift ideal for patients who want natural results, don’t have time for recovery, or don’t have areas of fat large enough to perform liposuction.
At their core, the Brazilian Butt Lift and Sculptra Butt Lift are designed to do two different things. A Brazilian Butt Lift is a surgical treatment that can generate immediate, drastic results, where as a Sculptra Butt Lift can create a subtle but important impact over a series of treatments. As such, the two procedures use different approaches and Sculptra is used if someone has inadequate fat to transfer yet wants to add volume to the butt area.
The Sculptra® butt lift is ideal for those who want to enhance their lower body shape by adding volume to it, safely. It is far safer than a Brazilian butt lift (using fat transfers).
Since there is no fat transfer required for this buttocks enhancement procedure, more patients can qualify, especially those who don’t contain much fat elsewhere on their body. There is virtually no downtime involved with butt filler; patients can resume their life as usual after treatments. The procedure itself is very quick; it can be done in about 30 – 45 minutes (but multiple sessions are needed).
Pain is greatly minimized during the procedure. This is because the Sculptra® injections are mixed with lidocaine, providing local anesthetic during delivery. The volume enhancements last between 18 – 24 months. This means that if you don’t like the results, you don’t have to live with them, unlike surgical options.
Sculptra® butt injections, including for a hip dip, require an initial series of 2 to 3 treatments spaced one month apart. Thereafter, ‘top up’ sessions are needed every 18 months to 2 years, in order to maintain the buttocks enhancement.
Results begin to show 4 to 6 months after the third initial treatment.
A Sculptra® butt lift is not permanent. Results need to be maintained. The effects will go away after about two years. The length of time it lasts depends on each person’s response to the substance. Some say it lasts less than two years, and some say it lasts up to three years.
